Breaking News!! Wyclef Jean shot in Haiti!

March 20, 2011 - Leave a Response

HIP-HOP legend Wyclef Jean was shot in the hand last night in Haiti on the eve of the presidential election. We wish Wyclef a speedy recovery.

Here is what was reported on inflexwetrust.com:

(Defend.HT)–Distressing reports came in at 12:00am, election day, March 20th 2011, that hip-hop artist Wyclef Jean had been shot and was at a hospital seeking treatment.

News reports claim that Wyclef was passing through Delmas #65 in Port-au-Prince when a hail of gunfire was showered into the car. Jean was in the car with Busta Rhymes, Jimmy Rosemond and other members of his entourage. No other passengers in the vehicle were injured.

The injury was inflicted to Wyclef Jean’s right hand. The same hand that made him a star as a guitar playing revolutionary of hip-hop.

Haiti is set to vote in its presidential runoff on this day and this event only adds to the dramatic circumstances of the tiny island. On Saturday, the formerly exiled President Jean Bertrand Aristide returned to Haiti, stirring up much speculation ahead of the elections.

UPDATE A spokesman for Wyclef Jean says the hip-hop star has been released from the hospital at 2:45am after being treated for a gunshot wound to his hand.

Wyclef is in our new documentary, “The Best Of: BlacksInActionTV.Com” which is coming out later this year. Click Pic below to see the trailer of our new documentary featuring Wyclef.

Carmelo Anthony is a Knick!!

February 21, 2011 - Leave a Response

It’s official, The Knicks get Melo. This is a good look for the Knicks. Check out the details below that were on ESPN.COM.

The New York Knicks have acquired Carmelo Anthony, sources told ESPN The Magazine’s senior writer Chris Broussard on Monday night.

The swap is a three-way deal including Minnesota, a league source told Broussard.

As a part of the deal, Denver will get Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks’ 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors’ 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors’ 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash while Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman will head to New York, according to the Denver Post.

Anthony wasn’t at the Nuggets’ practice on Monday night. Instead, the All-Star forward was in Burbank, Calif., taping a segment on “Conan.”

Anthony, who has been the subject of intense speculation as Thursday’s trade deadline approaches, stayed behind in Los Angeles following the NBA All-Star Game while his teammates gathered at the Pepsi Center.

Team spokesman Tim Gelt told The Associated Press that Anthony’s absence was excused. Late Monday afternoon, Anthony tweeted: “Headed to Burbank to film THE CONAN SHOW.”

Anthony has been the subject of trade talks ever since he declined to sign a three-year, $65 million extension with the Nuggets last summer. His biggest pursuers were the Knicks and New Jersey Nets.

Information from The Associated Press contributed to this report.

DJ Kool Herc makes a statement to MTV

February 1, 2011 - Leave a Response

Yesterday, we reported that Kool Herc needed surgery and has no health insurance to pay for it.

Legendary DJ Premier was the first to break the news on his radio show.

Alyse Feldman, Herc’s publicist; told me the legendary Kool Herc made a statement to MTV about having no Health Insurance in America, earlier today.

“We live in one of the superpowers of the world!” Herc said in a statement to MTV News on Tuesday (February 1). ” ‘Give me your tired, your poor … ‘ and then you don’t take care of them? There should be no weak ants in the colony. There shouldn’t be anyone fighting for health care! This has been going on too damn long! We fought for 1520 Sedgwick to get landmark status, and in 2007, New York State officially recognized it as the ‘Birthplace of Hip Hop.’ Now we are fighting for health care not just for me, but for everyone. I see this situation as another quest for me to shine light on a sensitive issue for the community. I’m an instrument of God. I’m here for a purpose and I want to be here for the solution.” Feldman made it clear that Herc was in good spirits but needs the surgery.

DJ Kool Herc is in poor health. Needs donations to pay for surgery!!

January 31, 2011 - Leave a Response

The creator of HIP HOP, DJ Kool Herc needs surgery for an undisclosed disease and doesn’t have health insurance to cover the cost.

The HIP HOP community is asking everyone to donate whatever they can or atleast spread the word to others who can make any donation to help pay for his surgery. With all the fans of HIP HOP worldwide, this should be an easy mission to accomplish. I personally made a donation to his sister Cindy through PayPal. The donation info is at the bottom of this page.
